SwiftPro Posts Its Furnace and Heat Pump Repair Prices for Fairfax, Manassas and Northern Virginia

A $99 diagnostic visit, a written price before any repair starts, and one price book for every town SwiftPro serves.

CHANTILLY, Va., October 23, 2026. As heating season starts, SwiftPro Heating, Cooling & Plumbing (goswiftpro.com), which was named BusinessRate’s Best of 2026, the #1 heating contractor in Fairfax, Virginia, has posted its furnace and heat pump repair prices for Fairfax, Manassas and the other Northern Virginia towns it serves. A heating repair diagnostic visit is $99, and the technician prices the repair in writing before starting it.

The prices are the same in every town, from furnace repair in Fairfax to furnace repair in Manassas and furnace repair in Ashburn. They come as the county fire departments make their heating-season case: Fairfax County Fire and Rescue advises having a professional clean and check a home heating system every year, and Loudoun County’s Heating Your Home Safely guidance says to have heating equipment and chimneys cleaned and inspected every year by a qualified professional.

“When the heat goes out, you want somebody to pick up the phone, and then you want to see the price of the repair in writing before you say yes,” said owner Tyler Griffin. “And if the furnace lights and shuts off a few seconds later, that’s usually a dirty flame sensor, which is a small repair.”

What a furnace repair costs

SwiftPro’s published price book is the same in every town it serves. A heating repair diagnostic visit is $99, and the technician prices the repair in writing before starting it.

RepairPrice
Heating repair diagnostic visit$99
Flame sensor cleaned$95 to $180
Igniter or flame sensor replaced$240 to $410
Blower wheel pulled and cleaned$300 to $440
Thermostat replaced$300 to $640
Control board replaced$550 to $1,180
Blower motor replaced$670 to $2,400
Defrost board replaced (heat pump)$450 to $1,150
A new furnace alone, keeping the air conditioner, 2 to 5 ton$71 to $234 a month at 0% APR for 60 months with the whole price financed, on approved credit, or $4,285 to $14,040 installed

On a gas furnace, most no-heat calls come down to the flame sensor, the igniter, the inducer motor or a pressure switch. A furnace that lights and then shuts off a few seconds later usually has a dirty flame sensor, the $95 to $180 line in the table. A high-efficiency furnace that shuts off on very cold nights often has a clogged or frozen condensate line.

On a heat pump, an aux or emergency heat light that stays on for hours on a mild day usually means the backup strips are doing the heat pump’s work, and it shows up on the electric bill. SwiftPro repairs gas and propane furnaces, heat pumps and hot water boilers. It doesn’t work on oil burners.

SwiftPro’s Comfort+ membership is $20 a month or $199 a year. It covers four visits a year: a heating maintenance visit in the fall, a cooling maintenance visit in the spring, a dryer vent cleaning and a water heater flush with a sewer camera inspection. Members get 15% off any service, and their diagnostic visits are included. Current promotions are on SwiftPro’s offers page.

Repair or replace

SwiftPro’s rule of thumb is to fix the small parts on almost any furnace. A big repair on a furnace past 15 or 20 years deserves a replacement price next to it, and the technician puts both numbers in front of the homeowner.

A new furnace alone, keeping the existing air conditioner, runs $71 to $234 a month at 0% APR for 60 months with the whole price financed, on approved credit, or $4,285 to $14,040 installed. Longer plans lower the payment and cost more in total: over 15 years at 9.99% APR, $46 to $151 a month. SwiftPro’s HVAC price estimator narrows the range for a given house.

Town by town

From September 22 to October 22, 2026, SwiftPro’s vans finished jobs at 615 homes in 38 Northern Virginia towns, according to its job records, and were in Fairfax, Manassas, Ashburn and Sterling nearly every workday and in McLean and Reston every week. Census figures below are for owner-occupied homes, from the American Community Survey, 2020 to 2024.

Fairfax. In the City of Fairfax, about 7 in 10 owner homes heat with gas, and the median home was built in 1966. Older houses often share one chimney between the furnace and the water heater, and Fairfax County asks for a chimney vent certification whenever a gas appliance is replaced. Replacing a gas furnace takes a permit even like for like: the City of Fairfax issues it inside the city line, Fairfax County outside it. More on furnace repair in Fairfax.

Manassas. About half of City of Manassas owner homes heat with electricity, usually a heat pump with electric backup strips, and the median home there was built in 1985. On the county side, gas leads. SwiftPro repairs propane furnaces as well as natural gas ones. More on furnace repair in Manassas.

Sterling. About four in ten Sterling owners heat with electricity, while Cascades, Lowes Island, Oak Grove and Arcola lean seven to nine in ten on gas. SwiftPro’s vans were in Sterling nearly every workday from September 22 to October 22, 2026. More on furnace repair in Sterling.

Ashburn. More than four in five owner homes burn gas, and many townhouse furnaces sit in an attic or an upper-floor closet. SwiftPro’s Ashburn office is at 44679 Endicott Drive, Suite 211. More on furnace repair in Ashburn.

McLean. Hot water boilers are a regular part of SwiftPro’s McLean heating work; most other homes burn gas in a basement furnace. SwiftPro’s vans were in McLean every week from September 22 to October 22, 2026, weekends included. More on furnace repair in McLean.

Reston. Heat pumps lead in ZIP code 20191, and gas furnaces in 20190 and 20194. SwiftPro’s vans were in Reston every week from September 22 to October 22, 2026. More on furnace repair in Reston.
