Trane AC Installation, From Open Van Doors to Gauges On

A Trane AC installation isn't finished when the unit is on the pad. This one is wired to its disconnect with gauge hoses still attached, the stage where a tech pulls the vacuum and confirms the charge.

Every Trane system we install, priced by home size: build your Trane.

What you’re seeing in this video

The first shot is the SwiftPro van in the driveway with its doors swung open and a tech in dark clothes walking past. For the day, that van is the parts room.

Around the side, a new Trane outdoor condenser sits on its pad against the brick, the badge clear. A disconnect is mounted on the wall, new wiring runs from it into the unit, and colored gauge hoses hang from the service ports. A tool bag waits in the grass nearby.

Why it matters in your house

  • Gauge hoses on a new install mean the system is being evacuated or charged. Ask what the final superheat or subcooling reading was, since that's how a tech proves the charge is right.
  • A new disconnect and wiring belong in a full install. Reusing a corroded old disconnect on a new condenser saves a few minutes and invites trouble.
  • Trane, like most manufacturers, ties its longest equipment warranty to registration within a set window after install. Make sure that paperwork gets done.

What's included in a full Trane AC installation?

Removing the old system and recovering its refrigerant, setting the new Trane condenser on a level pad with a matching indoor coil, connecting or replacing the line set, a new disconnect and wiring, a nitrogen pressure test, a deep vacuum, charging to the manufacturer's spec and a startup test. Warranty registration belongs on the list too.
